Maren is an engaging, effective and versatile attorney who achieves positive results by combining the
strategies of a skilled litigator with the persuasiveness of an expert negotiator across a wide range of
practice areas and legal venues – civil, family, criminal, and probate courts, administrative hearings and
educational institutions (K-12 and higher education).

Maren earned her J.D. from Yale Law School, her Ph.D. and M.A. from University of California, Berkely,
and her B.A. from Bryn Mawr College. As an attorney, Maren worked in Boston as a prosecutor, a
criminal defense attorney, and a litigation associate in Big Law. In Connecticut, Maren has practiced in
the areas of education law, family law, juvenile law, and disability law, with a focus on mental health-
related discrimination in housing, employment, access to services and treatment in the least restrictive
environment.

Maren is a long-term resident of Connecticut who grew up in Chicago and South Dakota and has lived at
one time or another in nearly every region of the country.
